METAMORFOSES,

a kinetic installation for voice and movement developed in and inspired by the old and disused building of a public mental health institution - Hospital Psiquiátrico Miguel Bombarda, Lisbon.

The voice functions as a meta instrument;

A computer analyzes the vocal performance. From this combination results a live work of sound spatialization, in an harmonious and polifonic relationship between a soloist and a musician of electonic music. Dynamically and in real time, all sounds are generated from the vocal stimulus and and from the experimental use of an antique armoire that serves as scenic object, harp and acoustic box.

All the sounds live produced are captured and processed digitally in real time by computer music tools, specially designed for this project in a structured algorithmic composition filled by the dialectic between the voice, the sounds taken from the wardrobe and the different voices metamorphosed along a playful/experimental/sensitive   and detailed process.
