FRUSCIO
FRUSCIO is a Neue Musik solo-project by Chiara Picotto.
It was born and has been developed between Portugal, Italy and Germany in a path which lasted nearly six years.
The voice is the main instrument that accompanies, alternates and intertwines with sounds produced by everyday objects and road-memory-records.
Entirely self-produced, diary of real and imagined life, the work questions the use, the value, the meaning and the sound of words, using a number of languages including Italian, Portugues, English, German, Arab and adding to these codes the freedom and the pleasure of the exploration of a completely imagined language.
The Imaginary Language.
Three words inspired the structure of the work: Construction_Deconstruction_Stratification,
while the compositional method is based on a game in which the geometry is in a playful relation with chaos and uncertainty.
Not everything has been thought right from the beginning: it happens that the initial idea, seducing the ears and the imagination, reveals the path to follow.
There are lines and dots: vocals and sounds overlap blending into each other.
Almost choral blocks are combined with moments of pause and suspension, in a dialogue between melodic phrases and experimental spaces, almost abstract.
Recorded with a simple Mac and a Pro Tools sound card, FRUSCIO exists thanks to the application of a single rule:
total rejection of rules and self-censorship.
